IAMA Actors Summer Intensive
Cultivating the next generation of L.A. Theatre Artists
June 17 - 30, 2024
Learn how to be a working L.A. actor from working L.A. actors!
The IAMA Actors Summer Intensive is a two-week program for emerging, early-mid career actors that focuses on building the artistic muscles, creative community, and tangible skills necessary to work in the theater and TV/film industries in Los Angeles.
Led by IAMA Executive Director Cara Greene Epstein and IAMA Education & Development Associate Director Laila Ayad, the Intensive features master classes and workshops taught by IAMA ensemble members, including Katie Lowes (Scandal, Inventing Anna), Parvesh Cheena (Frasier, Shining Vale), Adam Shapiro (Never Have I Ever, The Continental), and other industry experts. Topics include auditioning and acting across mediums; developing one’s own work; physical and mental wellness for artists; workshopping new material; building a network and community; learning the business of “the business”; and survival skills for thriving in L.A.
PLUS conversations with notable industry folks, authentic networking opportunities, and collaboration with the IAMA Ensemble and the IAMA Emerging Playwrights Lab.
The IAMA Actors Summer Intensive culminates in a simulated audition for top casting directors.
The cost of the Actors Summer Intensive is $1,750. Space is limited.
