Recurring in Vols. 1 & 2 of the critically-acclaimed Netflix comedy series DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, Courtney Sauls portrays "Brooke", an African-American "Tracy Flick" type, who works on the newspaper staff at Winchester University. Earlier this year, she appeared opposite Connie Britton and Angela Bassett on the inaugural season of Ryan Murphy's Fox drama 9-1-1, as a young, pregnant widow who has just lost her husband in a plane crash.
Previously, Courtney starred in the short film LADYLIKE, which premiered at Diversity in Cannes, and she played the role of "Wild" in the film version of DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, directed by Justin Simien. Courtney first appeared on the scene as the star of Emmy Award-winning writer Lena Waithe's pilot presentation TWENTIES.
