ADAM SHAPIRO moved to Los Angeles in 2002 with a Toyota Corolla, a loaf of fresh mandel bread, and a dream. Since, the graduate of the theatre school at University of Maryland, has since established himself as a talented actor in film, television and on stage.
Adam is fresh off his broadway debut as Ogie in Waitress. He is a co-founder of IAMA Theatre Company, and most recently teamed up again with Jonathan Caren in the world premiere of Canyon for which he was nominated for a Best Actor Scenie Award. He was Ovation Award nominated for IAMA’s LA premiere of Caren’s The Recommendation (Winner Best Production) and for Best Lead Actor in a Musical for Hey, Morgan! directed by Matt Shakman at the Black Dahlia Theatre. More stage credits include: Rent, You are Here, The Accidental Blonde, the world premieres of Leslye Headland’s Bachelorette and Assistance (IAMA Theatre Company), and “David” in Paul Grellong’s west coast premiere of Manuscript (The Elephant).
Adam is currently recurring on 3 shows: Showtime’s The Affair and The Good Lord Bird with Ethan Hawke, and a new Netflix comedy from Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, and will be seen in the upcoming film Ode To Joy. Last year he has starred in It Happened in LA (Sundance), Feed, The Female Brain, and Social Animals.
